Organizations, Fundraisers (and Other Nice Things)
"What return shall I make unto the Lord for His goodness to me?"
Serving our Parish Family, as well as our community, affords us the opportunity to worship God with our time and talents, and to thank him for both. It also gives us a chance to better acquaint ourselves with our fellow brothers and sisters at Holy Spirit, as well as getting to know our Palmyra neighbors in a more personal manner. Our fundraisers supplement our Sunday offerings, which enable us to finance special projects, ministries and improvements.
Remember: "God loves a cheerful giver".
BUILDINGS &
PROPERTIES ![]()
Our Buildings & Grounds Committee consists of Ladies and Gentlemen who are dedicated to the upkeep, repairs and upgrades to our Parish facilities. Working alongside them is a dedicated number of volunteers, who offer a bit of their spare time to paint, mow, remove snow, change lightbulbs and generally keeps God's House as nice as it should be. Got an hour to spare every once-in-awhile? Phone 838-3369, x3, and lend a hand.

Senior
Spirit
The Senior
Ministry provides a support system by providing for the spiritual, social
and temporal needs of our Senior members. Senior Socials are held when our
schedule permits, while the 'over-fifties' gather for fellowship. A brand
new 'season' is kicking off; plan to participate!
Wanna' help? Call Helen Burke at 838-6970.
The Knights of Columbus
The "K of C" is
a family and service-oriented organization for the men of Holy Spirit. They
provide an opportunity for young men of our parish to become more involved
in our church, our community and our youth. Meetings are held on the fourth
Thursday of the month. Interested men
should call Marty Dusel at 838-3916, or speak to any member during their
monthly Pasta Dinner, held in the Parish Social Hall.
Lenten Fish Fry
On the six Fridays during Lent, our dedicated volunteers set up, cook, haul, clean, serve and bake (WHEW!) for one of our most successful fundraisers. Under the guidance of
Father Jim, well over 3000 meals were served last year. Please be a good steward and add your name to the list of volunteers. Give our hard working
volunteers of many years, the support and extra hands they deserve.
SUMMER
FESTIVAL
Don't
"wimp" out.....
This year, we want
to put the FUN back into the Festival! The best way to accomplish
that is to have as many volunteers come on board as early as possible.
Your stewardship of time is extremely important to your parish. From the first
meeting held months in advance to the culmination in Summer, there is much
to be done. PLEASE consider volunteering for our Major Fundraiser, especially if you
are new to Holy Spirit. There are any number of areas that need attention,
so there is always something available for the amount of time and talent you
have to offer. It's never too early to contact
the Office to donate
your time.
The Holy Spirit Women's Society
Our motto, "Serving Our God By Serving Our Church" is quite true. The Women's Society works very hard all year long, doing fundraising and attending to the needs of the church's interior. Whether it's cleaning or decorating, our volunteers keep the Church, Chapel, School, Social Hall and Kitchen respectable for all. As Holy Spirit continues to grow, more and more needs to be done. Won't
you help? The WS has no meetings or dues, just the spirit of willingness to be involved with our Church. Most of what we accomplish is done on a day and time suited to the volunteer.
Please call Shay Patterson at 838-3369,
extension 3.
WS
Christmas Bazaar
Our Women's Society Bazaar is held in
November and is the easiest way for you to assist in fundraising. If you're a "crafter" we can use anything you're willing to donate. If you can't draw a straight line, you can
drop off an item for our Bake Sale. Can't do either of those? Help us sell what others have made. Too shy to work with the public? Then your help setting up and tearing down would be most appreciated. Please phone Shay at 838-3369, extension 3.
Flea Market Weekend
Our Annual Flea
Market is held the last weekend in July. Participation in this fundraiser
not only helps the Church, but can help you as well! When cleaning out for
Christmas, throw whatever you're ridding yourself of into a box and mark it
for the Flea Market. And when you're doing your "spring cleaning", add to
the box. Are you or a neighbor having a Yard Sale? Bring your unsold items
to us after Vacation Bible School. We will be happy to turn your clean,
working-condition items into cash! Flea Market Weekend, we invite you to help sell. Phone 838-3369, extension 3.
Adopt-A-Bed
Each spring, we post a layout of our grounds, divided into equal sections, and ask that members of the church "adopt" a flower bed. Those who sign up then pant and maintain their section through to the fall. This program has been well received an allows our beautiful church to be an even more distinguished "House of God". Interested person should sign for a section at the bulletin board, or call Shay at extension 3.
